Today’s Tarot: Your Wheel of Life
When the Wheel of Life spins in your direction, the message is to examine the cycles and patterns of your life. This may be a time of beginnings and endings. Such is the stuff of life: In order to have something begin, something must come to an end.
In the image on the card, the Wheel of Life is actually a model we use in the coaching world. The Wheel is divided into segments of the client’s life (career, family, spirituality, health, finances, etc.) and the client then assigns a value from 1-10 on a scale from things not working in this area (1) to things being wonderful (10). Then the coach and client discuss why things are either working or not working in those areas, to give them both some idea of what the client might wish to improve.
If I were your coach, and asked you to place a value from 1-10 for each area of your life, how would you rate things?
In Tarot, the Wheel of Life is commonly known as the Wheel of Fortune, and as such, can mean that Fate or Destiny plays a hand in your life circumstances. For some, this idea can suggest predestination or fatalism, that events are beyond the person’s control, that things “just happen.”
Not so much here. The finger pointing to the middle of the Wheel has the word “input” on it. A very telling symbol: the hand represents activity; the finger is what is known as the finger of direction and leadership. With regard to the Law of Attraction, this means that we play an active role in how we experience life, that what we “put into it” is what we get out of it. The activity is that of our thoughts and beliefs (input). The Law takes the activity of our thinking and expands on it, which then shows up in our life experiences.
If you notice cycles and patterns in your life, especially what you might not like or want, take some time and trace them back to what you think or believe about those things. That may be the opportunity (another meaning of this card) to break those patterns and cycles and create new ones. In order to change an experience, we must first change our thoughts about it.

James
