What Do You Really Value?

The King of Pentacles, from the Housewives Tarot.

The King of Pentacles! What a wonderful card to draw on Father’s Day–as he is the father of all fathers!

Our King sits in his recliner, feet up, smoking his pipe, and reading his Sunday paper. He’s got it good—this is the life! He’s earned his day of rest and relaxation by working hard all week.

And, today, he’s asking you to do the same. What achievements have you made (symbolized by the crown on his head) this week that you can now sit back and enjoy?

Living and working in the realm of Pentacles (material resources), he knows that life isn’t  just about constant acquisition—he also values taking the time to enjoy his wealth and abundance (which isn’t just monetary—although he will tell you that it doesn’t hurt to have money, honey!)

In the past, our King would’ve told you that time is just like money—you invest it and spend it just the same. Now, though, he has reached a certain level of maturity (being a King) and knows that time, in some cases, is more valuable than money.

His thought is that we can always make money—but we all have the same amount of time. What are you doing with the time you have? What do you invest it in—and spend it on?

If you take a moment to reflect on this, you will find—just like with the things you buy—what you really value.

Happy Father’s Day!
