Success in 12 Months: Congratulations!
It’s the fourth week of Month 12 of “Success in 12 Months”–the last week of this year-long blog series!
Since this month is about Giving Back, it’s only fitting to complete the series with an exercise on giving.
This week, you are to follow through giving in whatever way you determined in last week’s assignment.
But this doesn’t stop here …
Each day is another opportunity for you to choose to give–to give to yourself, in your relationships, at work, or with the people you meet. You always have the choice between acting with negativity and fear or acting with positivity and love.
Just for fun, here are a few ways to give that you might not have thought of:
- Buy a toy for your child and leave it in his/her room;
- Smile – smile at anyone and everyone. You will be surprised at the reactions – some people will smile, some will be shocked;
- Along with the tip, leave a thank you note for your server;
- Anonymously pay a bill for a friend who currently needs some help;
- Contact a local minister or service group offering to do a project for a stranger;
- Treat a former enemy with kindness – this might test your generosity muscles(!);
- Buy a gift – something you’ve wanted for yourself – and give it away to someone you think would want it.
If you’re not used to giving, you might think these ideas are kind of strange–but I’m guessing that once you do some of them, you won’t believe how good you feel!
And Now, Some Final Words…
Congratulations.
If you’ve followed this series for the entire 52 weeks, you should feel proud that you finished.
You’re part of the elite group of people who make it through 52 weeks of success learning, doing and sharing! Many people dream of success but only a few actively try to reach out and grab it. By simply working through this series you have taken a step that few others ever will.
Each month you were introduced to a personality trait, mentality or skill that is absolutely key to success.
The rest of it is up to you.
Now you have to dive into each of these topics and fully embrace them. Take the powerful base you have just learned and use it as the foundation of your success.
Powerful motivator Eric Thomas, puts it best when he tells his followers, “When you want to succeed as bad as you want to breathe, then you will be successful.”
Wishing you great abundance–and continued success!
