Today’s Tarot: Sharing an Emotional Connection

When the 2 of Cups is given to you, today may be a day in which you’re being encouraged to consider how you relate to others.

Being a card of proposals, engagements, commitments, partnerships and relationships (of all kinds—not just the romantic variety), this card could suggest this is a time of getting to know someone else better—and allowing that person the same of you. What would you be willing to share with another that you haven’t yet?

The 2 of Cups can also be a card of restoring balance (the number 2) and a time of reconciliation with another (the symbol of the caduceus, which can symbolize healing), which can be a courageous step (the lion) for both parties. Reconciliation can take place when each person is willing to put his or her pride aside (the lion) for the sake of the relationship.

From a spiritual perspective (the wings attached to the head of the lion), it’s said that one of the ways we grow and develop spiritually is through our relationships. It’s said that the people we form relationships with–no matter the level of intimacy involved–mirror to us what we need to learn—and we reflect the same for them.

So, consider how the people you connect with today may be a reflection for you—not in an effort for you to get to know them better, per se (although that could happen)—but in an effort for you to get to know yourself better.
