Checking in with the Angels

Checking in with the Angels header

Over the course of the weekend, I prepare the newest Weekly Oracle card reading that gets delivered to my e-mail subscribers every Monday.

After pulling some Angel cards for the most recent reading, I felt prompted to do a reading for myself, focusing on the relationship and connection with my Angels. Things that were coming to mind were what I might need to know about the present nature of the relationship, and what my Angels might offer as guidance on how to improve the connection.

I was calling it a “check in” reading.

How I Work with Angel Cards

When I work with Angel cards, deck selection is an important part of the process, as I always seek the deck most appropriate for the question. Since I was considering the everyday aspect of relating and connecting with my Angels, it seemed the most appropriate deck in my collection was the Daily Guidance from Your Angels Oracle Cards (by Doreen Virtue and published by Hay House).

I got the deck, set the intention with an invocation, and shuffled the cards, as I reflected on the question about my relationship and connection with my Angels.

In my personal readings, I fan the cards out facedown on the surface where I’m doing the reading, and in this particular case, I pulled three cards from the fan.

Reading My Angel Cards

The first card in the line represents the situation. In this case, it’s going to offer me something about the nature of the relationship and connection to my Angels.

I turn the card over: There’s Nothing to Worry About. The title of the card was enough of an answer to the question. I mean, could you ask for a response to be any clearer?

I look at the image, and the angel on the card has a dove in hand, which for me symbolizes peace. The message in this bit of imagery is for me to have “peace of mind” about my relationship and connection with my Angels.

I then see the rainbow around the dove; the rainbow is my symbol for the Angels, as they first introduced themselves to me in a dream as shafts of light, each one a different color. So, I see a rainbow as the “full spectrum” of the Angels.

I then notice the backdrop being the universe, with the idea coming to mind that things are “out of this world” between my Angels and me. My eyes drop down to the text and the words “this situation is under the perfect control of Divine providence and universal order” stand out.

I’m thinking to myself this reading is off to a great start.

Just when I didn’t think it could get better, I turn over the next card: Relationship.

I love this, as the title of the card is actually a word in my question.

The appearance of the unicorn on the card points out the “magic” of the relationship (as I interpret the unicorn, as a symbol, to represent magic) and the angel and unicorn facing There’s Nothing to Worry About just reinforces the messages of the previous card.

And then the words “bloom and prosper” pop out from the text on the card, suggesting that the relationship and the connection are both continuing to grow and develop.

And I then notice that the word “safe” appears on both cards, which I receive as a message being emphasized by my Angels that I’m being watched over and protected. And then it occurs to me that the angel on There’s Nothing to Worry About can be a representation of Archangel Michael, the chief angel of protection, because of the sword in its sheath around his waist.

I turn the final card over: Time to Go.

Looking at the image first, the words “zipping along quite nicely” popped into my head, which I took to mean that my relationship with my Angels was definitely progressing.

And then I noticed the very last line on the card, which reads, “…and we are with you through each phase and cycle.”

I also noticed the angel racing toward the Relationship card, as if to reinforce that card, much like Relationship facing There’s Nothing to Worry About. It was like each successive card was pointing back to There’s Nothing to Worry About.

And the movement also bore a message. The unicorn on Relationship is moving at a natural, steady pace, while the angel on Time to Go is moving much faster. This shows things “picking up speed” as time goes on.

444As if all of that wasn’t enough, I was led to look at the clock, and noticed the time: At that very moment, it was 4:44 pm, which is an Angel number, and means “Thousands of angels surround you at this moment, loving and supporting you. You have a very strong and clear connection with the angelic realm. You have nothing to fear—all is well”  (Virtue & Brown, 2005).

Talk about the proverbial icing on the cake!

Over to You

My intention with this post was to share that I not only read Angel cards for others (as you may have noticed if you checked out my previous post), but also for myself.

But I also wanted to share this point with my story: Seeing the results of honoring—and then following—your intuitive prompts. In my particular case, I had the prompt to do the reading, as well as the deck to use—and if I hadn’t followed the prompts, I would have missed out on such a wonderfully validating Angel card reading.

How about you? Do you read Angel cards for yourself? Or have you had an intuitive prompt, and followed the lead to a wonderfully validating experience?

I’d love to hear your thought about your experiences.

Thanks, James, for everything. It’s more intuitive for me, because there are things I think about and then it happens.
I don’t talk to anyone about it, they would look at me like I was crazy. But I don’t really associate with that many people anyway So, enjoy your weekend and holiday, James…
    And again, thank you.

      Cynthia,
Thanks so much for checking out the post. I can appreciate your comment because, in certain circles, I know people wouldn’t get the things I talk about and experience. And I’m sure some who have heard me share these things think I’m weird. For me, I’ve learned that it’s just outside of their life experiences, and that’s okay. It doesn’t change–or invalidate–my experience.
I hope you enjoy your weekend and the holiday as well.
And thank you for being such a wonderful supporter of my work–because you “get it.” 🙂

In a dream, I was visiting someone when I noticed a goat in their living room. I got on the goat and looked up and saw a woman staring at me, with a purple headband around her head. What does this dream mean?

      Hi, Louise,
Thanks so much for checking out the blog post and for sharing this dream with me.
If it were my dream, this is how I would work with it:
Being in a living room might suggest to me the space I’m “living” in, something going on in my (waking) life I might be “living” with. The visit aspect might say that the waking-life situation the dream is connected to is either temporary or has just “arrived.”
A goat might suggest the idea of “someone getting my goat” or that there’s some possible scapegoating (blaming, not assuming responsibility) going on in an area of my (waking) life. Getting on the goat would suggest to me that I’m being encouraged to “get on top” of whatever the issue (represented by the goat) is.
A woman would represent my feeling and emotional nature, and facing her might say to me to “face my feelings.”
Color in a dream is significant, so having purple in my dream would point to the idea of (spiritual) leadership and authority. As a headband, it might suggest a connection to the third eye and crown chakras, which are at the top of the head. If so, I might consider being open to trusting my intuition (third eye) and to receiving inspired ideas (crown) about how to become more empowered (purple) in my life.
These are my thoughts for your consideration, Louise. I hope they might be of help to you.
      Blessings,
      James
