The Universe Is Responding to Your Thoughts and Words
Recently, I was asked by a client if I’d be willing to meet with her at Marion Square, an area in downtown Charleston where artists sell their paintings outdoors.
And while I travel to meet with clients often, the thought of going downtown doesn’t appeal to me, mostly because parking is very challenging.
But I agreed.
So, on the day of our session, I’m in the car, driving on the interstate toward my destination.
As I get off the exit, entering downtown Charleston, I start talking aloud (well, truth be told, I tend to say everything aloud; I still haven’t figured out how that came about, but it’s how I roll).
I said to the Universe, “Okay…you know I don’t like being downtown, because of the challenges with parking. It’s afternoon, during the week, so please help me find a parking space easily. I just need one.”
I get to the parking garage that I’ve gotten accustomed to using when I go downtown, and for the most part, I’ve always managed to find a space.
Window down, I pull up to the ticket dispenser, and as I reach out to push the button for a ticket, I stop to read the message: “Parking garage is full.”
I pull my arm back inside. I close my eyes, breathe out a sigh, and hang my head down.
With my head down and eyes closed, I start to formulate an alternate plan, thinking about pulling back out, and where to go from here.
I raise my head, open my eyes, and look at the dispenser once more. The message has changed: “Push for ticket.”
I push for a ticket. A ticket is dispensed. Score! Talk about things changing in a moment!
Wait. It gets better.
The parking garage is five stories, and typically I find myself having to drive to either the fourth or top level to find a space.
Not this time.
Right after pulling the ticket from the dispenser, I rounded the corner on the ground floor. And, literally, right before my eyes, a car was backing out of a space at that very moment.
In all the times I’ve used the parking garage, this has never happened before.
Score!
In that moment, I realized (yet again) how responsive the Universe is to our thoughts and words (which are our spoken thoughts, the thoughts we give “voice” to).
As if that wasn’t enough, it gets better.
After parking the car, I set out on foot to Marion Square. Once again, I talk out loud, this time saying to the Universe, “Okay…thank you so much for blessing me with that parking spot. Now I’m asking for you to help me find this spot in the Square with ease. Thank you.”
No sooner than the words leave my mouth, my phone beeps, letting me know I just got a text message. I stop to look at my phone. The text is from the client; in it is a photo of the booth, letting me know where in the Square she is, so I can easily find her.
I was like, “Wow. Okay!”
3 Reasons for Sharing How the Universe Responded to Me
I share this experience for a few reasons.
The first reminds me of a quote attributed to David James Lees I once heard: Be mindful of your self-talk. It’s a conversation with the Universe.
What are you saying about yourself—and about your life experiences—when (you think) it’s just you you’re talking to?
Second, you do get what you ask for—it can just be a matter of timing.
This one might be tough, especially if you’re like me, and can be a bit impatient (I was born three months early, so my running joke is that I came into the world impatient).
If I’d been in my normal impatient mode, I would’ve backed out the garage, off to hunt down a spot, and would have missed the synchronicity of those magical moments, getting to witness the workings of the Universe, and seeing how responsive It is.
Sometimes, we get what we’re asking for when we take a moment and pause.
And, finally, I’m sharing this experience because while it’s one thing for me to post about the Law of Attraction and the magic of synchronicity, it’s quite another to post about those topics and then share with you how it works in my own life.
Over to You
And that’s a great way, as I wrap up, to turn it over to you.
Have you had any magical moments of synchronicity that have gotten you to see (what the Law of Attraction practitioners would deem “proof”) how responsive the Universe is to your thoughts and words?
If you’d like to share, you can tell me all about in the comments section below. I’d love to hear about it.
