I’m James Himm Mitchell, the Dreamer and Visionary of LifePlan Coaching & Consulting. This blog is an extension of LifePlan, and its focus is on personal growth and creating and achieving goals to improve one’s life–with a metaphysical/new age spiritual slant. My philosophy is that no matter what goal you want to achieve, you first have to develop a plan of action—and then work your plan.
I write about coaching, success, purpose, career direction, wellness, and financial abundance, as well as my work with dreams, the Tarot, and “the numbers.” There may also be times when the conversation is not about any of those things, but is still something I think is interesting to share.
My goal is to inspire you, to motivate you, and to get you thinking about your life in new and exciting ways so you can move in a new direction, toward the life you really want to be living—a life of purpose, meaning, and fulfillment. If that’s you, then this blog is for you.
I typically post once a week. If you don’t want to miss a post, you can subscribe by RSS or e-mail.

My Biography
I’ve worked in the personal growth and self-improvement industry since 1999.
I began my metaphysical career as the founder of Dreams and Visions, which provided dream interpretations and Tarot consultations for clients. I also taught classes and facilitated lectures and workshops in the local Charleston area. I was a featured reader on “Two Girls and a Guy,” the radio show broadcast on 95SX, and featured as a Tarot reader in the novel “Sweet Revenge,” by Fern Michaels. I was listed in Madison Who’s Who of Professionals for two consecutive years. I then went on to found HIMM (Healing with Intuitive Metaphysical Modalities) in 2010, when I became a Reiki practitioner, and wanted to incorporate that practice into my business.
Now, as the Dreamer and Visionary of the award-winning LifePlan Coaching & Consulting, I work as an intuitive life coach with clients one-on-one, and I’ve been tapped for speaking engagements and presentations by local communities in the Charleston area. Recently, I’ve been featured as the life coach of choice by Live 5 News, the Lowcountry’s News Leader. I appeared frequently on the internet radio shows “Awakenings,” and “Just Love,” and hosted “Sacred Expressions” on Kinetic Hi-Fi.
I hold a Master of Arts in Psychology from the University of the Rockies, in Colorado Springs, Colorado, as well as a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology, with a minor in Human Resource Management, from Ashford University, in Clinton, Iowa. I also hold a degree of certification in Life Coaching from the Life Coach Institute of Orange County, as well as a degree of certification as a Professional Intuitive Coach from the “I See Your Dream Job” International Professional Coaching Institute.
I’m also a trained and certified Reiki Practitioner, in the Usui tradition; an ordained minister, awarded a Doctor of Metaphysics (MsD); and a certified Level I and II Akashic Records Consultant.
I’m a founding member of the International Membership of Professional Advisors, Coaches & Trainers (IMPACT). Also, I’m a participating member of the Charleston Area Tarot Society (CATS), the International Association for the Study of Dreams (IASD), and the American Counseling Association (ACA).
In my free time, I enjoy reading. I also volunteer my time serving in many capacities at my local Unity church and at a local Reiki clinic, the Reiki Connection.
